Each dumbbell adjusts from just 2.3 kg up to 23.9 kg, allowing you to change resistance simply by returning the dumbbell to its storage tray and turning the SelectTech adjustment dials.

With 15 selectable weight settings per dumbbell, one pair can replace a substantial rack of conventional fixed dumbbells while taking up a fraction of the floor space.

The SelectTech 552 provides the following settings:

2.3, 3.4, 4.5, 5.7, 6.8, 8.0, 9.0, 10.2, 11.4, 13.6, 15.9, 18.2, 20.5, 22.7 and 23.9 kg

That gives users relatively small increments at lighter weights before progressing into larger increments as resistance increases.   

Quick SelectTech Adjustment

Instead of removing plates, collars or spinlocks between exercises, the SelectTech system lets the user select the desired resistance using adjustment dials at either end of the dumbbell.

The locking mechanism engages the appropriate plates while the unused plates remain in the storage tray.  

That's especially useful during workouts involving multiple exercises or different muscle groups where resistance needs to change frequently.

Are the BowFlex SelectTech 552 dumbbells sold as a pair?
No BowFlex's current 552 are sold individually. For a pair order 2.

How heavy does each BowFlex 552 dumbbell go?
Each dumbbell adjusts from approximately 2.3 kg to 23.9 kg (5–52.5 lb).  

How many weight settings are available?
There are 15 selectable settings per dumbbell.  

What are the BowFlex 552 weight increments?
The available metric equivalents are approximately 2.3, 3.4, 4.5, 5.7, 6.8, 8.0, 9.0, 10.2, 11.4, 13.6, 15.9, 18.2, 20.5, 22.7 and 23.9 kg.  

How do BowFlex SelectTech dumbbells work?
Place the dumbbell fully into its storage tray and turn the adjustment dials to the desired resistance. The locking mechanism engages the required plates so that the selected weight lifts with the handle while the remaining plates stay in the tray.  

Are the storage trays included?
Yes. BowFlex lists the storage trays as included with the current SelectTech 552 dumbbells. 

Can I buy a stand for the BowFlex 552?
Yes. BowFlex offers a SelectTech Adjustable Dumbbell Stand compatible with its SelectTech dumbbell range. The stand is sold separately.  

Are these suitable for a home gym?
Yes. Their main advantage is providing a broad resistance range without requiring a conventional rack of individual dumbbells.

Can BowFlex SelectTech dumbbells be dropped?

No
