How does Power Rod resistance work?
Flexible composite rods bend as you pull the cables. You can connect individual rods or combine them to change the resistance. The resistance increases as the rods bend.

Is the resistance equivalent to free weights?
No. Power Rod ratings are nominal estimates, and the resistance changes through the movement. They should not be treated as directly equivalent to lifting the same weight with a barbell.

Can the resistance be upgraded?
The PR1000 is not designed for the higher-capacity rod upgrades available on some other BowFlex models.

Does it have a rowing function?
Yes. The bench converts to a rolling-seat configuration for aerobic rowing using the Power Rod resistance system.

Does the bench fold?
Yes. The bench folds vertically for storage. Follow the manual for securing the machine and storing the rods correctly.
